Don Yeager Memorial

We dedicate this site to Don Yeager who exemplified to us and others a selfless pursuit of the truth.

His skills in life allowed him to comfortably provide for his family, furnishing them with a beautiful estate upon which to be nourished and develop as human beings. His expertise, his skills and his resources were readily used in the pursuit of truth in the earth science of paleontology.
Before we address the particulars about Don Yeager it is important to express his attitude toward these endeavors to which he devoted his time and resources.

Those who for gain and fame have robbed and disparaged Joe Taylor and his Mt Blanco Fossil Dig Team have not counted the number of individuals whom they have hurt in their disparagement, nor have they measured the depth of hurt to those individuals, nor of the people who love and support them.

Don Yeager like other team mates was not there to aggrandize or promote himself. Financial gain was not a consideration each time Don packed up the truck and trailer to bring equipment and his machinist job skills to a dig site. His goal was to help further the creation message, establish the Mt Blanco Fossil Museum and to facilitate fossil excavation, restoration and fossil reproductions to be economically provided to other Creation Museums around the country. To Don this was an opportunity and a privilege. Don Yeager had no axe to grind against those that have so sullied the efforts of his dig team leader and fellow members.
Don was in fact loathing believing the dreadful truth about them as this despotic episode unfolded. Like the others Don could not quite accept that people who could speak such godly words could also have an agenda of greed and destruction to work upon their fellow man.

The time we spent with Don and his exuberant wife Bennetta enriched our lives forever. We were treated to generous hospitality. Our time together was filled with hearty meals and warm fellowship. Don’s face lit up as he spoke about his fossil collection and showed us his awesomely equipped machine workshop. His commitment to scientific integrity in all his efforts was foremost. His abilities were evident as he showed the many varied tools he has improved, invented or repaired. We were treated to view one of the many videos Don has collected from his excavations with Joe and the rest of the team. The camaraderie was evident as we watched the team interact with one another excavating by day and in the evenings gathering around the campfire to sing, have conversation and muse.

One of our fondest memories of Don and Bennetta was when my daughter pointed out a sticker on Bennetta’s back. Bennetta’s quick response was “He got me again!” She informed us that she and Don had an ongoing game of putting stickers on one another and watching to see how long before the other caught on.
The Yaeger home is filled with memories of a happy marriage, memories of children raised and service freely given!
With hope in Christ, Heaven is all the more exciting to look forward to knowing that Don, a man who lived in Christ, will be there.
